Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this Patek Philippe PP Calatrava 6007G-011 thingamajig. It’s a watch, y’know? A fancy one, I reckon.

First off, this watch, they call it a “Calatrava.” Fancy name, I know. It’s one of them Patek Philippe watches. Them folks been makin’ watches since way back when, 1839 they say. Don’t know why they gotta make it so complicated, but that’s city folks for ya. Always gotta make things sound important.

Now, this ain’t no ordinary watch, mind you. It’s a specialty store kinda watch. That means you can’t just go down to the corner store and pick one up. You gotta go to one of them fancy authorized dealers. They say there’s only 78 of ’em in the whole United States. And even then, you might not get your hands on it right away.

I heard tell that folks are waitin’ a long time for these things. Some folks waitin’ a whole year just for a Calatrava! Can you believe that? A whole year! For a watch! I could plant a whole field of corn in that time, harvest it, and have enough money to buy… well, maybe not one of these watches, but a whole lotta somethin’ else, that’s for sure.

This here 6007G-011 model, it’s got a white gold case, they tell me. And it’s about 40mm big. Don’t know what that means in real inches, but it sounds kinda big. They say it’s got a “modern” look. I guess that means it ain’t all fancy and old-timey lookin’. More like what them young folks like these days. But shoot, I don’t know nothin’ about modern. I still like my old hand-crank clock on the wall. Keeps time just fine, and it don’t need no fancy batteries.

Them city slickers, they go on and on about the “manufacture” and the “reference number” and all that jazz. But all I see is a watch. A shiny, expensive watch. They say this Calatrava is the original design from back in 1932. That was a long time ago, wasn’t it? Must be somethin’ special if they keep makin’ it all these years.

  • Patek Philippe: That’s the name of the company, fancy and important.
  • Calatrava: The model of the watch, I guess. Like sayin’ Ford F-150, but for watches.
  • 6007G-011: That’s the special number for this particular watch, I reckon. Every one of them fancy things gotta have a number, just like my chickens.
  • White Gold: That’s what the shiny part is made of. Not real gold, I don’t think, but somethin’ close to it, and awful pricey, I bet.
  • 40mm: The size, like I said, big enough for folks to see it on your wrist from across the room, I suppose.

Now, if you wanna get one of these watches, you gotta be prepared to shell out some serious cash. I heard they cost a pretty penny. More than my whole farm is worth, I’d wager. And good luck findin’ one, even if you got the money. They say it ain’t easy. You gotta know somebody, or get on some kind of waitin’ list. It’s like tryin’ to catch a greased pig at the county fair.

They got these stores, they call ’em “salons,” in Geneva, London, and Paris. Them’s big cities over in Europe, I hear. If you ain’t near one of them fancy salons, you gotta find one of them 78 authorized dealers here in the States. And even then, you might not get lucky. They say there’s a big shortage of these watches. Folks are buyin’ ’em up faster than you can say “Patek Philippe.”

But, let me tell you what I think, even if nobody asked. It seems a bit much, don’t it? All that fuss over a watch. But then again, I ain’t never been one for fancy things. I like things that are practical, things that work, things that last. Like my old tractor. It ain’t pretty, but it gets the job done. And that’s more than I can say for some of them city slickers sellin’ them watches.

My two cents on the Patek Philippe PP Calatrava 6007G-011. It ain’t much, but it’s honest. And that’s more than you can say for some of them city slickers. It ain’t much, but it’s a watch. A fancy, expensive watch that tells time, just like my old clock on the wall. Only difference is, my clock don’t cost an arm and a leg. And I don’t need to wait for a year.

So, there you have it. That’s all I know about this Patek Philippe Calatrava thingamajig. Not much, I reckon, but it’s the truth as I see it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my chickens. They’re more reliable than any of these fancy watches, that’s for sure.
