Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again. Today, I’m gonna talk about somethin’ a bit different than usual. I decided to try my hand at remaking that fancy YSL JUNE BOX BAG I saw in the official flagship store. Yeah, that one. The one that costs more than my rent.
So, first off, I went to that store, just to take a good look at the original bag. They called it a “Saint Laurent” bag. I just call it a really expensive tiny bag. I tried to figure out what made it so special. They were talking about “diamond-quilted” somethin’ and “metal-free tanned leather.” Sounded like a load of mumbo jumbo to me, but I took some notes anyway.
Then I went hunting for materials. I found some leather that looked pretty similar. I don’t know if it was “metal-free tanned” or whatever, but it looked and felt like leather, so that’s good enough, right? I also found some metal bits and pieces to make that twisty thing on the front of the bag. I think they called it a “CASSANDRE” or something. I call it a shiny thingy.
Next, I started cutting and sewing. Let me tell you, it was a pain. That leather was tough, and my sewing machine was not happy. But I kept at it, using my old quilt-making skills. I guess you could say I was “remaking” it, just like they did with the original bag, but with a lot more sweat and probably a few curse words.
After a lot of trial and error, I finally finished my version of the bag. It wasn’t perfect, of course. There were some wonky stitches, and the “CASSANDRE” thingy was a bit crooked, but it kinda looked like the real thing. At least, I think so.
My handmade YSL JUNE BOX BAG
- Look: I mean, it looks like a small boxy bag, right? Just like the real one.
- Feel: It feels like leather because it is leather.
- Cost: Cost me way less than the original. I saved a bunch of money, so that’s a win.
So, there you have it. My adventure in remaking the YSL JUNE BOX BAG. Was it worth it? I don’t know, but it was a fun project. And hey, now I have a fancy-looking bag without breaking the bank. Maybe I’ll start a new trend. Who knows?
Anyway, that’s all for today. Let me know what you think of my little project. And if any of you have tried to remake something fancy, tell me about it! I’m always up for a good DIY story. Catch you all later!
