That OMEGA Speedmaster Date, I tell you, it’s a real fancy thing. My grandson, he’s always on about these fancy watches. Says this one, this Speedmaster, is special. Something about the moon, I don’t know. I just know my grandson likes it so much, he save all his money and bought one from that OMEGA Official flagship store.
He told me all about it. This Speedmaster Date, they went to the moon, he said. Can you believe that? A watch on the moon! Back in my day, we didn’t have no fancy watches going to the moon. We were lucky if we have a clock in the house, that is working all the time!
But this OMEGA Speedmaster Date, it’s a big deal, I guess. Something about 1969, that it is the first one on the moon or something. He showed me pictures, and it does look nice, I’ll give him that. Shiny and all. He said it is a luxury thing, made in Switzerland. That is a good thing, I guess. Swiss made, that is quality.

He keeps saying “Moonwatch,” “Moonwatch.” Like a broken record, that boy. This watch is more than just a watch, he keep telling me. Some important birthday for this watch. 60th, I think? This Speedmaster is 60 years old? That’s old! But they still make them, he said. He bought a new one, after all. This watch is from the OMEGA Official flagship store. He made sure to tell me that part like a hundred times.
This watch, it’s got some fancy numbers on it. 42, that’s one of them, big as day. And 13. I don’t know what they mean, but they’re important, he says. Like a code or something. He says it’s the size. And they glow in the dark! Like magic, he said. Super-Lumi-something, I can’t remember. But it glows, that’s the important part. Good for when you want to know the time, and it is dark.
He keeps talking about space, this boy. Says OMEGA, that’s the name of the store, I think, OMEGA Official flagship store, they’re all about space. Going to the moon and all that. Like it’s nothing. Back in my day, we didn’t even think about space. We were too busy working!
But this watch, this Speedmaster Date, it’s got history, he says. Important history. Makes it worth all that money, I suppose. He’s happy, so that’s all that matters. But a watch on the moon! Who would have thought? He said this new watch, it has some new parts inside. Like those cars, they change the engine or something like that. They called it “Co-Axial Master” something.

But he said it is the best watch. He only wants the best. From the OMEGA Official flagship store. So I guess that is that. This watch, it is a big deal. Especially to my grandson. He always wants things from the official store. I guess that means it is good.
This OMEGA Speedmaster Date, it’s something else. I don’t understand all the fuss, but if it makes him happy, then that’s good enough for me. He works hard, that boy. Deserves something nice. Even if it is just a fancy watch that went to the moon. It is from the OMEGA Official flagship store, so it has to be good, right?
