Alright, guys, so I’ve been messing around with this thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride. I’m talking about the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon.” Yeah, that long name, you heard it right. I finally got my hands on one of these babies, and I just had to share my experience with you all.
So, first off, I spent a lot of time looking into it. I mean, you don’t just jump into something like this without doing your homework, right? This ain’t your average watch, not by a long shot. It’s a CopyOMEGA, the Speedmaster Apollo 8, and let me tell you, it’s got “Dark Side of the Moon” in the name, so you know it’s gonna be interesting.
After digging around, I found out this is like, the wanna-be of the classic Moonwatch, you know? The one everyone thinks of when they hear “Speedmaster.” This one’s got a manual-wind movement, that Hesalite crystal – fancy, right? – and a black dial. It’s pretty close to the original that those astronaut guys wore on the Moon back in the day. And get this, the design hasn’t really changed much since then. Talk about timeless!
I started looking everywhere I could think of to find one. Scoured the internet, asked around, the whole nine yards. These things are like, luxury Swiss watches, so they ain’t cheap. I stumbled upon that they are called “Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon Apollo 8 Speedmaster 2024 Brand” now, fancy right?
Eventually, I found a place that had one. It wasn’t easy, and it definitely set me back a few bucks, but hey, I figured it was worth it. I mean, we’re talking about a piece of history here, even if it’s just a copy. So, I went for it, took the plunge, and ordered it.
When it finally arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Tore open that package so fast, you wouldn’t believe it. And there it was, in all its glory. This thing is a beauty, no doubt about it. Black ceramic case, that skeletonized dial – it’s just something else. You can see the whole movement ticking away in there. It’s mesmerizing, I swear.
I’ve been wearing it around for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, it’s pretty darn cool. I’ve seen some people online say it’s a bit big, but hey, I like a watch with some presence. And the strap? Super comfortable. It’s this black and yellow thing, kind of sporty, but it works.
Of course, I wanted to see how accurate it was, so I did some tests. You know, timed it against my phone, that kind of thing. And you know what? It’s pretty spot on. I mean, it’s not atomic clock level or anything, but for a mechanical watch, it’s impressive.
Now, I know some of you are probably thinking, “Why get a copy when you can get the real deal?” And trust me, I get it. But the real Moonwatch? That’s a whole other level of investment. This one gives you the look, the feel, without, you know, breaking the bank entirely.
So, all in all, I’m pretty happy with my CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon.” It’s a cool watch, it’s got some history, and it’s just fun to wear. If you’re into watches and you’re looking for something different, I’d say check it out. You might just fall in love with it like I did.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with this watch. Hope you guys found it interesting. Let me know what you think in the comments, and hey, if you’ve got any questions, fire away!
