Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this Rolex GMT-Master II, the left-handed “Sprite” version, and I gotta say, it’s a pretty interesting piece. This whole journey started because I was curious about what makes these watches tick, literally. And this one, being a lefty, caught my eye.
First off, I had to get my hands on one. Not easy, let me tell you. These things are popular, and getting a real one is quite a task. After a bit of a hunt and talking to some folks who know their stuff, I finally managed to secure one.
Once I had it, the first thing I noticed was, yeah, it’s designed for lefties. The crown, you know, the thing you use to wind it and set the time, is on the left side. Now, I’m not a lefty, but I tried wearing it on my right wrist just to see how it feels. It’s different, that’s for sure. Took some getting used to.
Then there’s the whole green and black bezel. That’s new for this model. It’s pretty cool looking, and I guess it’s why people are calling it the “Sprite”. It definitely stands out. I spent a good amount of time just playing around with the bezel, turning it this way and that. It’s got that satisfying click, you know?

I also did some digging online, trying to figure out what the deal is with these GMT-Master IIs. Turns out, they’re a big deal in the watch world. And this one, with the green and black, is a new release from 2022, which explains all the fuss.
After wearing it for a while and comparing it with some pictures online, I can see why folks are into it. It’s a Rolex, so you know it’s well-made. And this left-handed version is kind of a unique twist. It’s like they took something classic and gave it a little something extra.
My Two Cents
So, after all this, what do I think? It’s a solid watch, no doubt. It feels good on the wrist, it looks sharp, and it’s got that Rolex quality. The lefty thing is interesting, even if you’re not a lefty. And that green and black bezel? Yeah, I get the hype. It’s a cool touch.
Would I buy one? If I had the cash and was into collecting watches, maybe. It’s definitely a conversation starter. But for now, I’m just happy I got to mess around with it and see what all the fuss is about.
